A Knoxville Land Crew That Does It Right the First Time
Superior Land Management is a small, hands-on land clearing, forestry mulching, and excavation company based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We started in August 2021, and we’ve spent the years since clearing lots, mulching overgrown acreage, and getting property ready to build for homeowners and contractors across East Tennessee.
Google ReviewsWe’re not the biggest outfit around, and we don’t try to be the cheapest. What we try to be is the crew you only have to call once.
How We Got Here
Superior Land Management is owned and run by Chandler Humphrey. Chandler is the one running the machines, meeting you on your property, and putting his name behind the work. The company grew out of word of mouth: one customer telling a neighbor, one contractor passing our number along to the next.
Today we’re a crew of four. That size is on purpose. It keeps the owner on the job site instead of behind a desk, and it means the people you talk to before the job are the same people doing the work.

Why We Work the Way We Do
There’s a rule Chandler gives every guy on the crew: if we do it right the first time, nobody has to come back and fix it. Sometimes that means a job takes a little longer up front. We’re fine with that. Cutting corners to finish a day early just pushes the problem onto you later, and that isn’t how we want to do business.
We stand by our work. If something isn’t right, we’ll come back and make it right. In more than five years of business, no customer has called us back about a problem with the work, and we intend to keep it that way.

What We Do
Most of our work falls into three areas:
- Land clearing for building lots, pastures, farm ground, and overgrown property
- Forestry mulching, which keeps our excavator busier than anything else we do
- Excavation, including house pads, footers, trenching, driveways, and basements
Because we handle clearing and dirt work under one roof, we can take a raw, wooded lot and get it ready for everything short of framing: clearing, the house pad, footer prep, septic, and concrete. One call, one crew, one schedule to keep track of.
We also do forestry mulching for the Tennessee Department of Transportation along the interstate, clearing around highway signs. And we’ve taken on larger projects when the scope called for it, including 13 retaining walls on a commercial job near Hardin Valley, the largest running roughly 2,000 feet long and 40 feet tall.

Who We Work For
Most of our customers are homeowners and landowners: people who just bought a lot, want their pasture back, or have a hillside that needs to be opened up. We also work with builders and general contractors who need a dependable clearing and excavation crew, and we’re glad to take on commercial work.
Knoxville is home base, and we regularly work within about 50 miles of the city. If the project makes sense, we’ll travel farther. We’ve worked as far out as Kingsport.

Here When Things Go Wrong
Land work doesn’t always happen on a schedule. Storms drop trees across driveways, and water lines don’t wait for business hours to break. We’re available 24/7 for storm cleanup and emergencies. We’ve dug up a leaking water line in someone’s front yard at 3 o’clock in the morning, and we’d do it again.

Built on Cat Iron and Straight Answers
We run Caterpillar equipment and take care of it, because a machine that’s down is a job that’s late. When we look at your property, you’ll get an honest read on what it needs and what it will take. If a different approach would work better for your land, we’ll tell you, even if it isn’t what you expected to hear.
